Public hosted zones
- public hosted zone is a DNS database (zone) on public name servers
- accessible from the public internet & VPCs
- hosted on ‘4’ R53 names servers specific for the zone
- allocate 4 public name server where the zone files are hosted.
- create resource records (actual items of data DNS uses) within hosted zone
- externally registered domains can point at R53 public zone
